Regular walks for German dogs demanded by law
German agricultural ministry is preparing a new law for dog owners which will demand sufficient measure of the activity of dogs and contact with the environmental stimuli with animals and other people. The dogs may not be tethered on a chain or a lead for long periods or left at home all day but need to be taken care of several times a day.
The country’s agriculture minister, Julia Klöckner said: “Dogs are not cuddly toys. They also have their own needs, which need to be taken into account.” German dog owners will be demanded by law to walk their pets twice a day for at least one hour in total.
