New Year’s Greetings from FECAVA President Denis Novak

Happy 2021!

FECAVA best wishes to everyone for a very happy 2021.

This is a message of thanks to all of our colleagues in the veterinary profession. Thank you to every individual wherever you practice veterinary medicine.

A pandemic! Corona Virus. Lockdown. We have never lived through such a catastrophic event and it showed we took a lot for granted. We could have never imagined that we’d end up in a state where the simplest things become so complicated. It has had a profound effect on everyone.

We’ve had a bad year, but we’ve all just had to make the most of what we had to deal with. Most of us, take it one day at a time. All of us, psychologically, have been challenged. We’re used to freedom and that was taken away – for good reason or not – but it was hard to get used to. We all have a real appreciation for our freedom.

Personally, I just want to be able to look back on this period and know humankind tried to handle it as best as it was possible. This challenge will follow us for some years, I suppose. As a part of the medical profession and One Health, we should put all of our available resources to never allow us to go through a pandemic again!

Looking Forward to in 2021:
Normality!
Joy!
Hope!
Sensitivity!
Regaining empathy around the world!
People caring more about the animal welfare, environment and other nations!
The end of this wretched virus!

We should be all proud to be part of a profession that was at the forefront in fight with pandemic protecting animal health and welfare and contributing to the public health and human wellbeing.

In the meantime, keep your eyes on www.fecava.org in the coming weeks and if you haven’t already, be sure to follow our FECAVA Facebook and other FECAVA social platforms.
Looking forward to see you in person during 2021.

January 2, 2021.

Denis Novak
