FECAVA President Dr. Denis Novak Receives RCVS International Award

Congratulations to Dr. Denis Novak for receiving the RCVS International Award, a significant recognition of his contributions to the veterinary field. This prestigious award speaks to Dr. Novak’s tireless dedication to improving standards in veterinary education across Serbia, the Balkans, and other areas of Eastern Europe.

As a twice-elected President of the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), he has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and made a lasting impact. His additional roles, including serving as the President of the Serbian Association of Small Animal Practitioners (SASAP), the representative for the Serbian Veterinary Chamber to the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) / Union of European Veterinary Practitioners (UEVP), and the representative of SASAP to the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) further attest to his commitment to advancing the profession at both national and international levels.

The foundation of the Eastern European Regional Veterinary Conference (EERVC) is another significant achievement of Dr. Novak’s. His leadership in organizing and co-organizing more than 180 continuing professional development (CPD) events throughout Europe has facilitated invaluable knowledge-sharing and professional growth opportunities for veterinarians.

Dr. Novak graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Belgrade and continued his post-graduate training at the University of Cambridge Veterinary School, where he gained his MRCVS status. The Veterinary Clinic Novak, where he serves as a founder and partner, is a testament to his commitment to quality patient care.

His nominator, Dr. Wolfgang Dohne MRCVS, a UK representative on the board of FECAVA and a former President of the organization, speaks highly of Dr. Novak’s achievements, particularly noting his efforts in establishing freely-accessible continuing education events in influencing the veterinary education landscape in Eastern Europe demonstrates Dr. Novak’s determination and commitment to advancing the profession.

Moreover, Dr. Novak’s efforts extended beyond Europe, as he also contributed to establishing the new Middle East and African Veterinary Conference in Dubai. His work developing new small animal associations in several countries demonstrates a profound commitment to expanding professional networks and enhancing veterinary education in the region.
