More genes associated with canine hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis

Hip dysplasia is a common multifactorial disorder, where genetics play an important role. Its development is influenced by more than one gene, and recent research carried out at the University of Helsinki has revealed three novel loci associated with canine hip dysplasia and osteoarthritis. The study was conducted on a sample of more than 750 well-phenotyped German Shepherds.
