Vanessa graduated from the Norwegian School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After four years in mixed practice in Sweden, she started a specialising internship in anaesthesia at Massey University, New Zealand which was followed by an ECVAA residency at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Vanessa then spent two years at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), teaching and providing clinical anaesthesia, before taking up her current role as a veterinary anaesthesiologist and residency supervisor at Evidensia Södra Djursjukhuset Kungens Kurva in Sweden. Since 2022, Vanessa is also a part-time PhD student in laboratory animal anaesthesia at SLU.

Privately, Vanessa enjoys dog training and western riding and is a proud owner of a jack russel terrier, a quarter horse mare and a crazy cat.
