FECAVA Gastroenterology Stream Highlights 2025 SkSAVA Annual Meeting in Nitra
On 25–26 October 2025, the Slovak Small Animal Veterinary Association (SkSAVA) held its annual meeting in Nitra, Slovakia. This year’s scientific programme was enriched by a dedicated FECAVA stream on gastroenterology, which added an international perspective and attracted significant attention from delegates.
The invited speakers included Dr. Kathrin Busch, Gastroenterologist at the University of Munich; Dr. Katarina Novakovic, Clinical Pathologist from Belgrade; and Prof. Stephan Neumann, FECAVA Vice President, Hepatologist, and Clinical Pathologist at the University of Göttingen. Their lectures covered a wide range of topics in small animal internal medicine, focusing on advances in gastrointestinal diagnostics and treatment.
In total, Nova Veterinaria welcomed 700 participants from Slovakia and the Czech Republic, including veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and students. The event hosted 72 exhibitors and 14 speakers across three pavilions at the National Exhibition Centre in Nitra, creating a dynamic and engaging environment for learning and professional exchange.
The Gala Dinner on Saturday evening was attended by nearly 400 guests, including conference participants and representatives from sponsoring companies and exhibitors. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for networking and celebrating the success of the event in a convivial atmosphere.
Overall, the 2025 SkSAVA Annual Meeting was a great success and a fine example of the strong collaboration between FECAVA and national veterinary associations. The combination of a high-quality scientific programme, enthusiastic participation, and warm hospitality ensured that the event will be remembered as one of the highlights of the Slovak veterinary calendar.
