Can pets spread the new coronavirus?

It has been about two months since the start of a novel coronavirus disease outbreak in China in December 2019. Dangerous disease, which has been named COVID-19 is spreading fast and health organizations are working hard to expand knowledge about the new virus and provide advice for people on how to protect themselves and prevent the spread of disease.
Despite the fear among people, the World Health Organization (WHO) declares that there is currently no evidence that pets can be infected with the new coronavirus. Also, the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) has created an advisory document with frequently asked questions about coronavirus and companion animals, to help veterinarians calm their clients’ concerns. WSAVA will keep the Guidance updated as new information becomes available.

Much information about novel coronavirus as an emerging One Health matter can be read in the information sheet, recently published by the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE).
