‘Embracing change’ could well have been the topic of the general assembly meetings of the Union of European Veterinary Practitioners (UEVP) and of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), early November in Rome. Corporate practices, telemedicine, Brexit and a young veterinary network were all on the agenda. The FECAVA board was represented by president Wolfgang Dohne, honorary secretary Ann Criel and treasurer Danny Holmes.
A form to support client communication in consultations where no antibiotic is required has been developed on the occasion of the European Antibiotic Awareness Day

Interested in One Health research but unsure how to fund it? Apply now for the 2019 Travelling Fellowships Programme offered by the Soulsby Foundation. On 3 November (One Health Day), the Foundation announced it supports talented veterinary and medical researchers at an early stage in their careers through these competitively awarded Travelling Fellowships in One Health. Applicants must be affiliated to a biomedically relevant academic institution in the UK, USA, EU or Australasia.
3 November is One Health Day! Its goal is to raise awareness about the many links between animals, humans and the environment, not just of health but also of wellbeing. This includes public health, zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance as well as the human-animal bond, dog trade and the movement of disease, disease surveillance and prevention.
Fourteen Directors, the full FECAVA board and a handful of guests gathered in beautiful sunny Larnaca for the FECAVA Council meeting late October. Main topic of the meeting was the new marketing strategy, presented to the assembly by the marketing committee chair Goran Cvetcovic (Director for Serbia). This also included a new communication strategy.
