Cat vaccine survey ‘wake-up’ call to vet teams, says BVA

The survey of 2,000 cat owners, conducted by Merial Animal Health, revealed half of UK cat owners (48%) didn’t feel it was necessary to vaccinate their pets annually, and almost a third (28%) didn’t vaccinate at all.

“We, as an industry, need to look at how we can better inform cat owners about the need to vaccinate,” said Merial’s Sally Edis-Bates. Images © Ilike / Fotolia.

It also revealed more than 60% of respondents knew very little or nothing at all about the diseases their cats were at risk from.
