The Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) is in the forefront of fighting antimicrobial resistance and advocating the value of ‘One Health’ approach.
The European veterinary profession is strongly committed to the responsible use of antibiotics. FVE supports all of the great work already being done and ongoing by the profession to reduce the use of antibiotics across all species.
FVE President, Dr Rafael Laguens, said ‘Antibiotic resistance is a true global ‘One Health’ issue. Veterinarians are part of the solution as gatekeepers of responsible use of antibiotics in animals, but success can only be reached through collaboration and joint efforts. Each party involved working together towards a common goal.’
Brussels, 18 November 2016: EPRUMA welcomes the 9th edition of European Antibiotic Awareness Day, and takes the opportunity to reiterate its commitment to promoting the responsible use of all veterinary medicines, including antibiotics.
We are happy to inform you that EPRUMA has just published a press release entitled ‘Exchange of information on best practices, critical to ensuring the responsible use of veterinary medicines across the EU’
