Breeding of dogs with excessive traits on the FVE agenda

FECAVA’s initiatives for the health and welfare of brachycephalic dogs were highlighted during the second day of the general assembly of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE), held in Brussels today. The recommendations that came out of the Panel discussion co-organised by FECAVA in September will  be taken into account of the draft UEVP/FVE position paper on healthy breeding. FECAVA Past President Monique Megens is an active member of the joint Animal Welfare Working Group of the FVE and the Union of European Veterinary Practitioners, and is in charge of drafting the position paper, that will be presented to the FVE GA in June.
